`Petitioner Google Inc. hereby requests refund of the $18,000 post-institution
`
`fee it paid in connection with this proceeding, which has now been terminated
`
`without institution.
`
`On November 4, 2016, Google Inc. filed a petition for covered business
`
`method patent review in this matter (CBM2017-00010) concerning U.S. Patent No.
`
`RE43,528. Google paid the required filing fees of $30,000, including $12,000 for
`
`the request fee and $18,000 for the post-institution fee.
`
`On May 2, 2017, the Board issued a decision denying institution of covered
`
`business method review. Paper 9. Because the covered business method review
`
`was not instituted, Google requests a refund of the post-institution fee it paid in the
`
`amount of $18,000.
`
`Upon review and approval of the request, Google respectfully asks the
`
`Board to credit the requested amount to Google by depositing the amount into PTO
`
`Deposit Account No. DA502001. Lead counsel for Google is available for a
`
`conference call if it would be useful for processing the requested refund.
