`
`
`Re: United States v. Jonell Danforth, 20-cr-78(AT)
`
`Dear Judge Torres,
`
`I have been assigned to represent Jonell Danforth in this matter. I write to
`
`respectfully request the Court to permit a substitution of counsel. Specifically, Mr.
`Danforth has retained Salvatore Compoccia to represent him in this matter. I have
`spoken with Mr. Compoccia and am in the process of transferring my file to him. He
`has filed a notice of appearance.
`
`In light of the COVID-19 crisis, and pursuant to the S.D.N.Y.’s Standing
`
`Order, In re: Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic, 20-misc-154(CM), I respectfully
`request that, if a conference is required for this substitution, counsel be permitted
`to appear via telephone. I have consulted the Court’s “Emergency Individual Rules
`and Practice in Light of COVID-19,” and believe that, under Fed. R. Crim. Proc.
`43(b), Mr. Danforth’s appearance is not required. Additionally, the defendant
`waives his right to such appearance and consents to appear via telephone if
`necessary.
`
`
`
`I thank the Court in advance for its attention to this request.
`
`
`

`
`Sincerely,
`
