3/22/2024Minute Entry for proceedings held before Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo:Bond Hearing as to Klaus Pflugbeil held on 3/22/2024. AUSA Ellen Sise present. Dft present w/ret counsel Nick Lewin. Dfse counsel proposed a bail application of $500,000 with $150,000 cash to be posted with the clerk of the court and 3 sureties; govt opposed the amount of the bond and the based on dft's risk of flight; court would require property to be posted and a higher dollar amount of the bond. 2nd call: Dfse counsel informs the court that the 3 sureties are willing to post their property. Court sets the bond @ $1,000,000 with 2 properties to be posted and $150,000 cash to be deposited with the clerk of the court. 3 sureties appeared via teleconference, sworn and advised of the bond obligations and gave consent to the court to sign the bond on their behalf. Dft advised of the bond conditions and signed the bond. Dft will not be released until the property is posted and the cash is deposited with the clerk of the court.
