`
`Re:
`
`United States v. Harsha Sahni
`Crim. No. 23-118 (GC)
`
`Dear Judge Castner:
`
`Please consider this letter application in lieu of a formal motion by defendant Harsha
`Sahni for a 10-day extension of her reporting date to the SCP Danbury until January 6, 2024.
`
`the Court sentenced the defendant to a term of 27 months
`On October 28, 2024,
`imprisonment, followed by two years of supervised release. The Court also imposed a $50,000
`fine, $728,326.98 in restitution and a $200 special assessment. The defendant has fully paid the
`fine, restitution and the special assessment.
`
`At the time of sentencing, the Court recommendedthat the defendant serve her sentence
`at the Danbury SCP and allowed the defendant voluntarily surrender at the designated institution
`60 days after sentencing. On November 13, 2024, the defendant was notified that she has been
`designated to serve her sentence at the Danbury SCP andto report to that facility on or before
`noon on December26, 2024.
`
`As the reporting date falls between the Christmas and New Years Day holidays and is a
`time when many people are off work and celebrate the holidays with family, and the defendant
`has never been separated from her husband since their marriage 40 years ago, she wishes to be
`able to spend what may be her last holiday period with him before serving her 27-month

`sentence. Rana Sahni is 78 years old and in declining health which has led him to limit his
`practice of medicine to one day per week.
`
`I have conferred with counsel for the government regarding this request and have been
`authorized to advise the Court that the government does not object to the 10-day extension ofthe
`defendant’s reporting date.
`
`I have taken the liberty of preparing a form of Order for Your Honor’s consideration and
`
`enclose it herewith.
