`
`Pursuant to the Court’s Order (Dkt. No. 78), Plaintiffs ByteDance Inc., TikTok Inc., and
`
`TikTok Pte. Ltd. (collectively, “TikTok”) and Defendant Triller, Inc. (“Triller”) provide the
`
`following joint status report to apprise the Court of the status of the inter partes review (“IPR”)
`
`proceedings that led the Court to stay this case (see id.).
`
`
`
`IPR 2022-00179: On May 16, 2022, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (“PTAB”) of the
`
`U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) instituted IPR proceedings on the asserted claims of
`
`TikTok’s U.S. Patent 9,648,132 (“the ’132 patent”). A Final Written Decision regarding
`
`patentability of the asserted claims of the ’132 patent is expected on or before May 16, 2023.
`
`
`
`IPR 2022-00180: On May 16, 2022, the PTAB instituted IPR proceedings on the asserted

`
`11
`
`patentability of the asserted claims of the ’322 patent is expected on or before May 16, 2023.
`
`12
`
`
`
`IPR 2022-00181: On May 16, 2022, the PTAB declined to institute IPR proceedings on the
`
`13
`
`asserted claims of TikTok’s U.S. Patent 9,294,430 (“the ’430 patent”).
`
`14
`
`
`
`Case No. 4:21-cv-05300-JSW (Triller’s co-pending infringement case against TikTok):
`
`15
`
`On August 4, 2021, this Court stayed the co-pending litigation between Triller and TikTok
`
`16
`
`in this District pending final resolution of the IPR proceedings regarding Triller’s asserted U.S.
`
`17
`
`Patent 9,691,429 (C.A. No. 4:21-cv-05300-JSW, Dkt. 94). On April 19, 2022, the PTAB issued a
`
`18
`
`Final Written Decision finding all asserted claims of the ’429 patent unpatentable (IPR 2021-00099,
`
`19
`
`Paper 28). On June 17, 2022, Triller filed a Notice of Appeal with the United States Court of
`
`20
`
`Appeals for the Federal Circuit appealing the PTAB’s finding of unpatentability (CAFC-22-1937).
