`
`Infor To Acquire Workbrain For $227 Million
`
`On April 3, the world's largest private software company, Infor Global Solutions,
`announced plans to acquire Canadian online workforce management software
`vendor Workbrain for $227 million in cash. Although still subject to regulatory and
`shareholder approval, the deal was unanimously approved by Workbrain's board
`and is expected to close in June of this year.
`
`Workbrain, which counts Minneapolis, Minn.-based General Mills and Target Corp.
`amongst its customers, should integrate well with Infor's existing human capital
`management (HCM) software, particularly in areas such as time and attendance,
`scheduling, absence management and workforce planning.
`
`While much attention has been paid to Redwood, Calif.-based Oracle's buying spree
`over the past few years, Alpharetta, Ga.-based Infor has been on an acquisition run
`of its own, buying ERP consultancy Profuse this February and SSA Global, Extensity
`and Systems Union in 2006.
