`
`1, Pamela Stansbury, declare:
`
`1.
`
`I am an Administrative Supervisor of the Cornell University Library, and specifically the Original
`Cataloging Unit, located at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York 14853. I am knowledgeable
`regarding the policies and procedures of the Library as they relate to the receipt, cataloging, and
`tracking ofbooks and I have personal knowledge of the facts set forth below. I am familiar with
`these procedures because I have been employed by the Libraiy since 1982, where I began in
`Technical Services as a Serials Assistant, then a copy cataloger in the Cataloging Unit in 1984. I
`have held my current position since the mid-19905.
`
`2. The Cornell Library holds an original copy of the monograph, Tutorial, interconnection networks
`for parallel and distributedprocessing / Chuan-lin Wu and Tse-yun Feng. IEEE Computer
`Society Press, 1984. I have been asked for information about Tutorial, interconnection newer/cs
`for parallel and distributed processing — specifically when this item was first made publicly
`available by the Cornell Library. From my review of the Library’s records and my knowledge of
`the Library’s standard procedures, Tutorial, interconnection networksfor parallel and distributed
`processing was cataloged and publicly available at the Engineering Library, in its public stacks,
`shelved by its Library of Congress classification system number within one or two days of
`February 15, 1985. A date stamp of“FEB 15 1985” inside the front cover indicates that it arrived
`at the Engineering Library on February 15, 1985 and at the point would be made available to the
`public.
`
`3. My opinion is based on the date stamp inside thle‘front cover of the document, and my knowledge
`of the Library’s standard procedures relevant to date stamping, cataloging, and shelving items. I
`have not seen any indication that Tutorial, interconnection networks for parallel and distributed
`processing would have been an exception to the Library’s standard practice. The Library
`maintains a searchable and publicly accessible catalog of its publications. Therefore, as of
`February 15, 1985 for Tutorial, interconnection nemorks for parallel and distributedprocessing
`any member of the public could have located this item by searching our catalog by title, author, or
`subject matter.
`
`I declare that all statements made herein of my knowledge are true, and that all statements made on
`information and belief are believed to be true, and that these statements were made with the knowledge
`that willful false statements and the like so made are punishable by fine or imprisonment, or both, under
`Section 1001 of Title 18 ofthe United States Code.
